1
۞ الۤرۚ تِلۡكَ ءَایَـٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ وَقُرۡءَانࣲ مُّبِینࣲ
Aliflamra tilka ayatu alkitabi waquranin mubeenin
Alif. Lam. Ra. These are verses of the Scripture and a plain Reading
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
2
رُّبَمَا یَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوۡ كَانُوا۟ مُسۡلِمِینَ
Rubama yawaddu allatheena kafaroo law kanoo muslimeena
It may be that those who disbelieve wish ardently that they were Muslims
3
ذَرۡهُمۡ یَأۡكُلُوا۟ وَیَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ وَیُلۡهِهِمُ ٱلۡأَمَلُۖ فَسَوۡفَ یَعۡلَمُونَ
Tharhum yakuloo wayatamattaAAoo wayulhihimu alamalu fasawfa yaAAlamoona
Let them eat and enjoy life, and let (false) hope beguile them. They will come to know
4
وَمَاۤ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَرۡیَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابࣱ مَّعۡلُومࣱ
Wama ahlakna min qaryatin illa walaha kitabun maAAloomun
And We destroyed no township but there was a known decree for it
5
مَّا تَسۡبِقُ مِنۡ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا یَسۡتَءۡخِرُونَ
Ma tasbiqu min ommatin ajalaha wama yastakhiroona
No nation can outstrip its term nor can they lag behind
6
وَقَالُوا۟ یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِی نُزِّلَ عَلَیۡهِ ٱلذِّكۡرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجۡنُونࣱ
Waqaloo ya ayyuha allathee nuzzila AAalayhi alththikru innaka lamajnoonun
And they say: O thou unto whom the Reminder is revealed, lo! thou art indeed a madman
7
لَّوۡ مَا تَأۡتِینَا بِٱلۡمَلَـٰۤئِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِینَ
Law ma tateena bialmalaikati in kunta mina alssadiqeena
Why bringest thou not angels unto us, if thou art of the truthful
8
مَا نُنَزِّلُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤئِكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوۤا۟ إِذࣰا مُّنظَرِینَ
Ma nunazzilu almalaikata illa bialhaqqi wama kanoo ithan munthareena
We send not down the angels save with the Fact, and in that case (the disbelievers) would not be tolerated
9
إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَـٰفِظُونَ
Inna nahnu nazzalna alththikra wainna lahu lahafithoona
Lo! We, even We, reveal the Reminder, and lo! We verily are its Guardian
10
وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ فِی شِیَعِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ
Walaqad arsalna min qablika fee shiyaAAi alawwaleena
We verily sent (messengers) before thee among the factions of the men of old
11
وَمَا یَأۡتِیهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ یَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
Wama yateehim min rasoolin illa kanoo bihi yastahzioona
And never came there unto them a messenger but they did mock him
12
كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَسۡلُكُهُۥ فِی قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِینَ
Kathalika naslukuhu fee quloobi almujrimeena
Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty
13
لَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَقَدۡ خَلَتۡ سُنَّةُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ
La yuminoona bihi waqad khalat sunnatu alawwaleena
They believe not therein, though the example of the men of old hath gone before
14
وَلَوۡ فَتَحۡنَا عَلَیۡهِم بَابࣰا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ فَظَلُّوا۟ فِیهِ یَعۡرُجُونَ
Walaw fatahna AAalayhim baban mina alssamai fathalloo feehi yaAArujoona
And even if We opened unto them a gate of heaven and they kept mounting through it
15
لَقَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتۡ أَبۡصَـٰرُنَا بَلۡ نَحۡنُ قَوۡمࣱ مَّسۡحُورُونَ
Laqaloo innama sukkirat absaruna bal nahnu qawmun mashooroona
They would say: Our sight is wrong - nay, but we are folk bewitched
16
وَلَقَدۡ جَعَلۡنَا فِی ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ بُرُوجࣰا وَزَیَّنَّـٰهَا لِلنَّـٰظِرِینَ
Walaqad jaAAalna fee alssamai buroojan wazayyannaha lilnnathireena
And verily in the heaven we have set mansions of the stars, and We have beautified it for beholders
17
وَحَفِظۡنَـٰهَا مِن كُلِّ شَیۡطَـٰنࣲ رَّجِیمٍ
Wahafithnaha min kulli shaytanin rajeemin
And We have guarded it from every outcast devil
18
إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسۡتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمۡعَ فَأَتۡبَعَهُۥ شِهَابࣱ مُّبِینࣱ
Illa mani istaraqa alssamAAa faatbaAAahu shihabun mubeenun
Save him who stealeth the hearing, and them doth a clear flame pursue
19
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ مَدَدۡنَـٰهَا وَأَلۡقَیۡنَا فِیهَا رَوَ ٰسِیَ وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا فِیهَا مِن كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ مَّوۡزُونࣲ
Waalarda madadnaha waalqayna feeha rawasiya waanbatna feeha min kulli shayin mawzoonin
And the earth have We spread out, and placed therein firm hills, and caused each seemly thing to grow therein
20
وَجَعَلۡنَا لَكُمۡ فِیهَا مَعَـٰیِشَ وَمَن لَّسۡتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِرَ ٰزِقِینَ
WajaAAalna lakum feeha maAAayisha waman lastum lahu biraziqeena
And we have given unto you livelihoods therein, and unto those for whom ye provide not
21
وَإِن مِّن شَیۡءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَاۤئِنُهُۥ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُۥۤ إِلَّا بِقَدَرࣲ مَّعۡلُومࣲ
Wain min shayin illa AAindana khazainuhu wama nunazziluhu illa biqadarin maAAloomin
And there is not a thing but with Us are the stores thereof. And we send it not down save in appointed measure
22
وَأَرۡسَلۡنَا ٱلرِّیَـٰحَ لَوَ ٰقِحَ فَأَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءࣰ فَأَسۡقَیۡنَـٰكُمُوهُ وَمَاۤ أَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِخَـٰزِنِینَ
Waarsalna alrriyaha lawaqiha faanzalna mina alssamai maan faasqaynakumoohu wama antum lahu bikhazineena
And We send the winds fertilising, and cause water to descend from the sky, and give it you to drink. It is not ye who are the holders of the store thereof
23
وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ نُحۡیِۦ وَنُمِیتُ وَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡوَ ٰرِثُونَ
Wainna lanahnu nuhyee wanumeetu wanahnu alwarithoona
Lo! and it is We, even We, Who quicken and give death, and We are the Inheritor
24
وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡتَقۡدِمِینَ مِنكُمۡ وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡتَءۡخِرِینَ
Walaqad AAalimna almustaqdimeena minkum walaqad AAalimna almustakhireena
And verily We know the eager among you and verily We know the laggards
25
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ یَحۡشُرُهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَكِیمٌ عَلِیمࣱ
Wainna rabbaka huwa yahshuruhum innahu hakeemun AAaleemun
Lo! thy Lord will gather them together. Lo! He is Wise, Aware
26
وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ مِن صَلۡصَـٰلࣲ مِّنۡ حَمَإࣲ مَّسۡنُونࣲ
Walaqad khalaqna alinsana min salsalin min hamain masnoonin
Verily We created man of potter's clay of black mud altered
27
وَٱلۡجَاۤنَّ خَلَقۡنَـٰهُ مِن قَبۡلُ مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِ
Waaljanna khalaqnahu min qablu min nari alssamoomi
And the jinn did We create aforetime of essential fire
28
وَإِذۡ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلۡمَلَـٰۤئِكَةِ إِنِّی خَـٰلِقُۢ بَشَرࣰا مِّن صَلۡصَـٰلࣲ مِّنۡ حَمَإࣲ مَّسۡنُونࣲ
Waith qala rabbuka lilmalaikati innee khaliqun basharan min salsalin min hamain masnoonin
And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered
29
فَإِذَا سَوَّیۡتُهُۥ وَنَفَخۡتُ فِیهِ مِن رُّوحِی فَقَعُوا۟ لَهُۥ سَـٰجِدِینَ
Faitha sawwaytuhu wanafakhtu feehi min roohee faqaAAoo lahu sajideena
So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him
30
فَسَجَدَ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعُونَ
Fasajada almalaikatu kulluhum ajmaAAoona
So the angels fell prostrate, all of them together
31
إِلَّاۤ إِبۡلِیسَ أَبَىٰۤ أَن یَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِینَ
Illa ibleesa aba an yakoona maAAa alssajideena
Save Iblis. He refused to be among the prostrate
32
قَالَ یَـٰۤإِبۡلِیسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِینَ
Qala ya ibleesu ma laka alla takoona maAAa alssajideena
He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate
33
قَالَ لَمۡ أَكُن لِّأَسۡجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقۡتَهُۥ مِن صَلۡصَـٰلࣲ مِّنۡ حَمَإࣲ مَّسۡنُونࣲ
Qala lam akun liasjuda libasharin khalaqtahu min salsalin min hamain masnoonin
He said: I am not one to prostrate myself unto a mortal whom Thou hast created out of potter's clay of black mud altered
34
قَالَ فَٱخۡرُجۡ مِنۡهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِیمࣱ
Qala faokhruj minha fainnaka rajeemun
He said: Then go thou forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast
35
وَإِنَّ عَلَیۡكَ ٱللَّعۡنَةَ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلدِّینِ
Wainna AAalayka allaAAnata ila yawmi alddeeni
And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment
36
قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرۡنِیۤ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ یُبۡعَثُونَ
Qala rabbi faanthirnee ila yawmi yubAAathoona
He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised
37
قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنظَرِینَ
Qala fainnaka mina almunthareena
He said: Then lo! thou art of those reprieved
38
إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلۡوَقۡتِ ٱلۡمَعۡلُومِ
Ila yawmi alwaqti almaAAloomi
Till the Day of appointed time
39
قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَاۤ أَغۡوَیۡتَنِی لَأُزَیِّنَنَّ لَهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَأُغۡوِیَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ
Qala rabbi bima aghwaytanee laozayyinanna lahum fee alardi walaoghwiyannahum ajmaAAeena
He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one
40
إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنۡهُمُ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِینَ
Illa AAibadaka minhumu almukhlaseena
Save such of them as are Thy perfectly devoted slaves
41
قَالَ هَـٰذَا صِرَ ٰطٌ عَلَیَّ مُسۡتَقِیمٌ
Qala hatha siratun AAalayya mustaqeemun
He said: This is a right course incumbent upon Me
42
إِنَّ عِبَادِی لَیۡسَ لَكَ عَلَیۡهِمۡ سُلۡطَـٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡغَاوِینَ
Inna AAibadee laysa laka AAalayhim sultanun illa mani ittabaAAaka mina alghaweena
Lo! as for My slaves, thou hast no power over any of them save such of the froward as follow thee
43
وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوۡعِدُهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ
Wainna jahannama lamawAAiduhum ajmaAAeena
And lo! for all such, hell will be the promised place
44
لَهَا سَبۡعَةُ أَبۡوَ ٰبࣲ لِّكُلِّ بَابࣲ مِّنۡهُمۡ جُزۡءࣱ مَّقۡسُومٌ
Laha sabAAatu abwabin likulli babin minhum juzon maqsoomun
It hath seven gates, and each gate hath an appointed portion
45
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِینَ فِی جَنَّـٰتࣲ وَعُیُونٍ
Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatin waAAuyoonin
Lo! those who ward off (evil) are among gardens and watersprings
46
ٱدۡخُلُوهَا بِسَلَـٰمٍ ءَامِنِینَ
Odkhulooha bisalamin amineena
(And it is said unto them): Enter them in peace, secure
47
وَنَزَعۡنَا مَا فِی صُدُورِهِم مِّنۡ غِلٍّ إِخۡوَ ٰنًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرࣲ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِینَ
WanazaAAna ma fee sudoorihim min ghillin ikhwanan AAala sururin mutaqabileena
And We remove whatever rancour may be in their breasts. As brethren, face to face, (they rest) on couches raised
48
لَا یَمَسُّهُمۡ فِیهَا نَصَبࣱ وَمَا هُم مِّنۡهَا بِمُخۡرَجِینَ
La yamassuhum feeha nasabun wama hum minha bimukhrajeena
Toil cometh not unto them there, nor will they be expelled from thence
49
۞ نَبِّئۡ عِبَادِیۤ أَنِّیۤ أَنَا ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِیمُ
Nabbi AAibadee annee ana alghafooru alrraheemu
Announce, (O Muhammad) unto My slaves that verily I am the Forgiving, the Merciful
50
وَأَنَّ عَذَابِی هُوَ ٱلۡعَذَابُ ٱلۡأَلِیمُ
Wa anna AAathabee huwa alAAathabu alaleemu
And that My doom is the dolorous doom
51
وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡ عَن ضَیۡفِ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ
Wanabbihum AAan dayfi ibraheema
And tell them of Abraham's guests
52
إِذۡ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَیۡهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمࣰا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمۡ وَجِلُونَ
Ith dakhaloo AAalayhi faqaloo salaman qala inna minkum wajiloona
(How) when they came in unto him, and said: Peace. He said: Lo! we are afraid of you
53
قَالُوا۟ لَا تَوۡجَلۡ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِیمࣲ
Qaloo la tawjal inna nubashshiruka bighulamin AAaleemin
They said: Be not afraid! Lo! we bring thee good tidings of a boy possessing wisdom
54
قَالَ أَبَشَّرۡتُمُونِی عَلَىٰۤ أَن مَّسَّنِیَ ٱلۡكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ
Qala abashshartumoonee AAala an massaniya alkibaru fabima tubashshirooni
He said: Bring ye me good tidings (of a son) when old age hath overtaken me? Of what then can ye bring good tidings
55
قَالُوا۟ بَشَّرۡنَـٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلۡقَـٰنِطِینَ
Qaloo bashsharnaka bialhaqqi fala takun mina alqaniteena
They said: We bring thee good tidings in truth. So be not thou of the despairing
56
قَالَ وَمَن یَقۡنَطُ مِن رَّحۡمَةِ رَبِّهِۦۤ إِلَّا ٱلضَّاۤلُّونَ
Qala waman yaqnatu min rahmati rabbihi illa alddalloona
He said: And who despaireth of the mercy of his Lord save those who are astray
57
قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُكُمۡ أَیُّهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ
Qala fama khatbukum ayyuha almursaloona
He said: And afterward what is your business, O ye messengers (of Allah)
58
قَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّاۤ أُرۡسِلۡنَاۤ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمࣲ مُّجۡرِمِینَ
Qaloo inna orsilna ila qawmin mujrimeena
They said: We have been sent unto a guilty folk
59
إِلَّاۤ ءَالَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ
Illa ala lootin inna lamunajjoohum ajmaAAeena
(All) save the family of Lot. Them we shall deliver every one
60
إِلَّا ٱمۡرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرۡنَاۤ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ ٱلۡغَـٰبِرِینَ
Illa imraatahu qaddarna innaha lamina alghabireena
Except his wife, of whom We had decreed that she should be of those who stay behind
61
فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ
Falamma jaa ala lootin almursaloona
And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot
62
قَالَ إِنَّكُمۡ قَوۡمࣱ مُّنكَرُونَ
Qala innakum qawmun munkaroona
He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me)
63
قَالُوا۟ بَلۡ جِئۡنَـٰكَ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ فِیهِ یَمۡتَرُونَ
Qaloo bal jinaka bima kanoo feehi yamtaroona
They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing
64
وَأَتَیۡنَـٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَـٰدِقُونَ
Waataynaka bialhaqqi wainna lasadiqoona
And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers
65
فَأَسۡرِ بِأَهۡلِكَ بِقِطۡعࣲ مِّنَ ٱلَّیۡلِ وَٱتَّبِعۡ أَدۡبَـٰرَهُمۡ وَلَا یَلۡتَفِتۡ مِنكُمۡ أَحَدࣱ وَٱمۡضُوا۟ حَیۡثُ تُؤۡمَرُونَ
Faasri biahlika biqitAAin mina allayli waittabiAA adbarahum wala yaltafit minkum ahadun waimdoo haythu tumaroona
So travel with thy household in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs. Let none of you turn round, but go whither ye are commanded
66
وَقَضَیۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡهِ ذَ ٰلِكَ ٱلۡأَمۡرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ مَقۡطُوعࣱ مُّصۡبِحِینَ
Waqadayna ilayhi thalika alamra anna dabira haolai maqtooAAun musbiheena
And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn
67
وَجَاۤءَ أَهۡلُ ٱلۡمَدِینَةِ یَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ
Wajaa ahlu almadeenati yastabshiroona
And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals)
68
قَالَ إِنَّ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ ضَیۡفِی فَلَا تَفۡضَحُونِ
Qala inna haolai dayfee fala tafdahooni
He said: Lo! they are my guests. Affront me not
69
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخۡزُونِ
Waittaqoo Allaha wala tukhzooni
And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not
70
قَالُوۤا۟ أَوَ لَمۡ نَنۡهَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ
Qaloo awalam nanhaka AAani alAAalameena
They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone
71
قَالَ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ بَنَاتِیۤ إِن كُنتُمۡ فَـٰعِلِینَ
Qala haolai banatee in kuntum faAAileena
He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so)
72
لَعَمۡرُكَ إِنَّهُمۡ لَفِی سَكۡرَتِهِمۡ یَعۡمَهُونَ
LaAAamruka innahum lafee sakratihim yaAAmahoona
By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death
73
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّیۡحَةُ مُشۡرِقِینَ
Faakhathathumu alssayhatu mushriqeena
Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise
74
فَجَعَلۡنَا عَـٰلِیَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَیۡهِمۡ حِجَارَةࣰ مِّن سِجِّیلٍ
FajaAAalna AAaliyaha safilaha waamtarna AAalayhim hijaratan min sijjeelin
And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay
75
إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَـٰتࣲ لِّلۡمُتَوَسِّمِینَ
Inna fee thalika laayatin lilmutawassimeena
Lo! therein verily are portents for those who read the signs
76
وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِیلࣲ مُّقِیمٍ
Wainnaha labisabeelin muqeemin
And lo! it is upon a road still uneffaced
77
إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَةࣰ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ
Inna fee thalika laayatan lilmumineena
Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers
78
وَإِن كَانَ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡأَیۡكَةِ لَظَـٰلِمِینَ
Wain kana ashabu alaykati lathalimeena
And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers
79
فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا مِنۡهُمۡ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامࣲ مُّبِینࣲ
Faintaqamna minhum wainnahuma labiimamin mubeenin
So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see
80
وَلَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡحِجۡرِ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ
Walaqad kaththaba ashabu alhijri almursaleena
And the dwellers in Al-Hijr denied (Our) messengers
81
وَءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُمۡ ءَایَـٰتِنَا فَكَانُوا۟ عَنۡهَا مُعۡرِضِینَ
Waataynahum ayatina fakanoo AAanha muAArideena
And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them
82
وَكَانُوا۟ یَنۡحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ بُیُوتًا ءَامِنِینَ
Wakanoo yanhitoona mina aljibali buyootan amineena
And they used to hew out dwellings from the hills, (wherein they dwelt) secure
83
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّیۡحَةُ مُصۡبِحِینَ
Faakhathathumu alssayhatu musbiheena
But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour
84
فَمَاۤ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ یَكۡسِبُونَ
Fama aghna AAanhum ma kanoo yaksiboona
And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not
85
وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَیۡنَهُمَاۤ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَءَاتِیَةࣱۖ فَٱصۡفَحِ ٱلصَّفۡحَ ٱلۡجَمِیلَ
Wama khalaqna alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma illa bialhaqqi wainna alssaAAata laatiyatun faisfahi alssafha aljameela
We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness
86
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلۡخَلَّـٰقُ ٱلۡعَلِیمُ
Inna rabbaka huwa alkhallaqu alAAaleemu
Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator
87
وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَیۡنَـٰكَ سَبۡعࣰا مِّنَ ٱلۡمَثَانِی وَٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ ٱلۡعَظِیمَ
Walaqad ataynaka sabAAan mina almathanee waalqurana alAAatheema
We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an
88
لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَیۡنَیۡكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعۡنَا بِهِۦۤ أَزۡوَ ٰجࣰا مِّنۡهُمۡ وَلَا تَحۡزَنۡ عَلَیۡهِمۡ وَٱخۡفِضۡ جَنَاحَكَ لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ
La tamuddanna AAaynayka ila ma mattaAAna bihi azwajan minhum wala tahzan AAalayhim waikhfid janahaka lilmumineena
Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers
89
وَقُلۡ إِنِّیۤ أَنَا ٱلنَّذِیرُ ٱلۡمُبِینُ
Waqul innee ana alnnatheeru almubeenu
And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner
90
كَمَاۤ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡمُقۡتَسِمِینَ
Kama anzalna AAala almuqtasimeena
Such as We send down for those who make division
91
ٱلَّذِینَ جَعَلُوا۟ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ عِضِینَ
Allatheena jaAAaloo alqurana AAideena
Those who break the Qur'an into parts
92
فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسۡءَلَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ
Fawarabbika lanasalannahum ajmaAAeena
Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one
93
عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ یَعۡمَلُونَ
AAamma kanoo yaAAmaloona
Of what they used to do
94
فَٱصۡدَعۡ بِمَا تُؤۡمَرُ وَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنِ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِینَ
FaisdaAA bima tumaru waaAArid AAani almushrikeena
So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters
95
إِنَّا كَفَیۡنَـٰكَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَهۡزِءِینَ
Inna kafaynaka almustahzieena
Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers
96
ٱلَّذِینَ یَجۡعَلُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَۚ فَسَوۡفَ یَعۡلَمُونَ
Allatheena yajAAaloona maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara fasawfa yaAAlamoona
Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know
97
وَلَقَدۡ نَعۡلَمُ أَنَّكَ یَضِیقُ صَدۡرُكَ بِمَا یَقُولُونَ
Walaqad naAAlamu annaka yadeequ sadruka bima yaqooloona
Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say
98
فَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِینَ
Fasabbih bihamdi rabbika wakun mina alssajideena
But hymn the praise of thy Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him)
99
وَٱعۡبُدۡ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ یَأۡتِیَكَ ٱلۡیَقِینُ
WaoAAbud rabbaka hatta yatiyaka alyaqeenu
And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee
