1
وَٱلسَّمَاۤءِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡبُرُوجِ
Waalssamai thati alburooji
By the heaven, holding mansions of the stars
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
2
وَٱلۡیَوۡمِ ٱلۡمَوۡعُودِ
Waalyawmi almawAAoodi
And by the Promised Day
3
وَشَاهِدࣲ وَمَشۡهُودࣲ
Washahidin wamashhoodin
And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony
4
قُتِلَ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡأُخۡدُودِ
Qutila ashabu alukhdoodi
(Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch
5
ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡوَقُودِ
Alnnari thati alwaqoodi
Of the fuel-fed fire
6
إِذۡ هُمۡ عَلَیۡهَا قُعُودࣱ
Ith hum AAalayha quAAoodun
When they sat by it
7
وَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَا یَفۡعَلُونَ بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ شُهُودࣱ
Wahum AAala ma yafAAaloona bialmumineena shuhoodun
And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers
8
وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنۡهُمۡ إِلَّاۤ أَن یُؤۡمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِیزِ ٱلۡحَمِیدِ
Wama naqamoo minhum illa an yuminoo biAllahi alAAazeezi alhameedi
They had naught against them save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Owner of Praise
9
ٱلَّذِی لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ شَهِیدٌ
Allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi waAllahu AAala kulli shayin shaheedun
Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness
10
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ فَتَنُوا۟ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَـٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمۡ یَتُوبُوا۟ فَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ ٱلۡحَرِیقِ
Inna allatheena fatanoo almumineena waalmuminati thumma lam yatooboo falahum AAathabu jahannama walahum AAathabu alhareeqi
Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning
11
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمۡ جَنَّـٰتࣱ تَجۡرِی مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَـٰرُۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡكَبِیرُ
Inna allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum jannatun tajree min tahtiha alanharu thalika alfawzu alkabeeru
Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success
12
إِنَّ بَطۡشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِیدٌ
Inna batsha rabbika lashadeedun
Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern
13
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ یُبۡدِئُ وَیُعِیدُ
Innahu huwa yubdio wayuAAeedu
Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth
14
وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلۡوَدُودُ
Wahuwa alghafooru alwadoodu
And He is the Forgiving, the Loving
15
ذُو ٱلۡعَرۡشِ ٱلۡمَجِیدُ
Thoo alAAarshi almajeedi
Lord of the Throne of Glory
16
فَعَّالࣱ لِّمَا یُرِیدُ
FaAAAAalun lima yureedu
Doer of what He will
17
هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِیثُ ٱلۡجُنُودِ
Hal ataka hadeethu aljunoodi
Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts
18
فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَثَمُودَ
FirAAawna wathamooda
Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud
19
بَلِ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِی تَكۡذِیبࣲ
Bali allatheena kafaroo fee taktheebin
Nay, but those who disbelieve live in denial
20
وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَاۤئِهِم مُّحِیطُۢ
WaAllahu min waraihim muheetun
And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them
21
بَلۡ هُوَ قُرۡءَانࣱ مَّجِیدࣱ
Bal huwa quranun majeedun
Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an
22
فِی لَوۡحࣲ مَّحۡفُوظِۭ
Fee lawhin mahfoothin
On a guarded tablet
